Who can use this service?
This service is available to all residents of the Whitewater Bromley region. You may use this service for urgent issues only even though you may not come here for your routine health care.
Who will you see?
You may see a physician or a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with an extended nursing license. This means they have extra training to diagnose illness, provide treatment and if needed, provide certain prescriptions. Usually, a nurse will do an initial assessment of your problem.
How does the Urgent Care Clinic work?
The receptionist will register you at the front desk. If you are not a regular client of this Health Centre, they will take basic information including your health card number and ask you to sign a consent form. Clients are generally seen on a first come, first served basis. The exception to this would be an emergency which will be given priority. The nurse may also determine who should be seen first by the walk-n physician or nurse practitioner.
What will happen to the information from my visit?
If you are a client of the centre, this information is placed in your chart. If you are not a client, the information is faxed to your regular physician. All routine follow-up care should be with your family physician.
