Board of Directors - Our Goal
The WBCHC steering committee was developed to address the problem of under serviced primary health care in the Whitewater-Bromley region by establishing a Community Health Centre (CHC) for these communities. A multidisciplinary team, all on salary, will staff the CHC. This could consist of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietician, physiotherapists, counsellors, chiropodists etc. The local need would determine the staffing. Other services could include laboratory, health promotion programs such as diabetic clinics, community kitchens, children programs, or any programs identified for the community health. In November of 2004, funding for the Health Centre was realized and presently two sites, Beachburg and Cobden are in full operation as Satellites being operated as a part of Lanark Health and Community Services. Our hopes for the future include the expansion of existing facilities and the achievement of "stand-alone" status for our local Community Health Centre.
